Dexter and I spent the morning at the local Dodge dealership, Lithia Dodge Ram Fiat of Las Cruces for some routine maintenance. They gave my big red truck a check-up, changed the oil, and replaced a taillight. Dexter made lots of new friends and proved once again that his best role is that of "lapdog"!
We headed straight for home right after our appointment since there was a high wind warning in effect. The winds were expected to be 20 or 30 miles an hour with gusts up to 50 miles an hour this afternoon. It sounded like a good day to stay in the camper. I pulled out the strawberries I purchased yesterday to have with my lunch and just couldn't believe the size! They were so sweet and juicy too. This is just one of the reasons I love the South. Can you believe these are strawberries I found in February?
The winds have indeed been howling all afternoon but my camper is positioned heading into the wind so we weren't rocked around quite as much as we have been in the past. The wind kicked up a lot of dirt so Dexter and I stayed in and had a nice quiet afternoon. The wind advisory is in effect for another hour and then it should quiet down. The clouds in the west looked interesting as evening rose and in the east, the moon is rising. It will be full tomorrow night.
