Dexter and I took a walk up to the equestrian area this morning and he met some new friends!
As you can see he is fully recovered and feeling on top of the world!
On the way back to the camper we caught a glimpse of a jackrabbit. I only had my cell phone with me so the photos are a bit grainy but they show the size of these enormous hares. I may have to sit outside with a little bit of lettuce for bait to see if I can catch one with my Nikon.
Steve and I visited The Biosphere 2 in Oracle Arizona, just up the road from the campground. This fascinating research facility has a long and interesting history. In the early 90s they performed closed experiments where eight people sealed themself inside the biosphere for 2 years to conduct research and experiments. The facility is now open and is used as a Premier Research site for Natural Sciences helping researchers understand the effects of our rapidly changing environment. We both found the facility beautiful and the research fascinating. You can read much more about it on their website.
Today was Steve's last day here in Tucson, he'll be heading to the airport tomorrow to catch a plane home. We've had a lovely time together and I'll be sad to see him go.
